2026年8月15日，印度驻广州总领事馆举行庄严的升旗仪式，纪念印度独立80周年。印度侨民及印度之友出席了本次活动。

On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day of India, Consulate General of India, Guangzhou hosted a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony. The event saw participation by Indian community members and friends of India.

马经儒总领事升起印度国旗，并宣读了印度总统德鲁芭蒂·穆尔穆阁下致全国人民的讲话。

Consul General Shri Gince Kuruvilla Mattam hoisted the national flag and read out the address to the nation by Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India.

总领事在致辞中回顾了印度争取独立的英勇斗争、数百万印度人民的不朽牺牲，以及印度过去80年来的发展历程。他重点介绍了印度政府在近十年来推行的各项举措，这些举措正以前所未有的规模和速度改变着印度。

In his remarks, Consul General reflected on India’s heroic struggle for independence, unforgettable sacrifices by millions of Indians as well as India's developmental journey over the past eight decades. He highlighted various initiatives by Government of India  in the last one decade which are transforming India at unprecedented scale and speed.

总领事强调，印度政府一直致力于推动印中两国之间的相互理解，并特别表彰了华南地区的印度侨民及文化合作伙伴为总领馆各项活动作出的卓越贡献——这些活动正是为了搭建印中友谊的桥梁。

Consul General emphasized efforts by the Government which are aimed at fostering mutual understanding between India and China, and specially commended the Indian diaspora and culture partners in the region for their outstanding contributions to the Consulate's programs towards building bridges of friendship between India and China.

他邀请大家共同参与印度迈向“发达印度”（Viksit Bharat）的征程。

He invited everyone to be the part of India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat.
